Our leadership team has been working in student housing property management for more than two decades and offers extensive knowledge in portfolio management, strategic positioning of lease-up assets, and associate training and development that make Grand Campus Living the choice of owners across the nation.

 

Staff Bios

Carol Warren Peddy, Senior Vice President

Carol is Senior Vice President of Grand Campus Living, the student living division of Lincoln Property Company. Her direct focus at GCL is on mentoring and providing support to the management team and ensuring communities operate with a competitive advantage while maintaining Grand Campus Living’s values, policies and procedures. Carol leads the team to drive property performance, monitor market conditions and develop specific strategies to ensure that their clients’ goals and objectives are achieved. In addition, Carol drives the new business development efforts with an emphasis concentration on establishing Grand Campus Living as a unique and creative management solution to investors and owners across the nation. Carol brings over 25 years of experience in the multi-family industry, with over 15 years of her tenure spent with JPI. She has extensive experience in both conventional and student housing. Carol has worked with large institutional clients as well as private owners in all phases of property operations: new construction, acquisitions and stabilized assets along with overseeing multi-million dollar capital projects. Carol leverages her strong leadership and mentoring talents, which has a positive impact on the oversight of all aspects of the GCL portfolio, including client relations, financial performance, leasing and marketing. Carol served as a member of the first NAA Student Housing Conference Committee and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma.

Dan Griffin, Vice President

Dan started his property management career back in 1994 in Syracuse as a maintenance tech and was promoted 3 times within the first 2 ½ years, to Property Manager then to District Manager for 11 years. In 2005 Dan began his career in Student Living, working for the Preiss Company, serving as the General Manager over a 1552 bed student living property. He had also served as an HOA President and a corporate trainer, where he would travel to new sites/transitions/takeovers and train the teams.In 2009 he went to work for Campus Apartments/Kenney Realty as a Regional Manager overseeing 5 sites in GA, SC, TN and NC. Dan has spent the last 3 years as a an RPM for Campus Advantage.

Leslie Malaise, Accounting Manager

Leslie Malaise serves as Accounting Manager for Grand Campus Living. She is primarily responsible for managing all accounting and financial reporting for properties currently managed by Grand Campus Living. She maintains accounting policies and procedures, internal controls and cash management in accordance with company policies and client requirements. Mrs. Malaise has 12 years of accounting experience within the Real Estate industry, of which one has been with Lincoln. She has obtained additional experience by serving in various accounting positions including assisting in the IPO of a well renowned real estate company. She is a CPA and holds a B.S. in Management with additional course work in accounting.

David Ramirez, National Director of Marketing and Training

David Ramirez started his career in 2004 as a Community Advisor at a 2,000 bed On-campus housing community. Since then, David has worked his way up through the ranks holding positions such as Leasing Manager, Assistant Property Manager, PM and Regional Director of Marketing. Prior to joining GCL, David worked for Camden Property Trust, American Campus Communities, Peak Campus and Woodlark. David specializes in recovering under-performing assets by executing strategic marketing campaigns to increase occupancy while pushing rates. His most recent challenge was the successful lease up and management of a 472 bed, mixed use property which experienced a 9 month construction delay. David’s expert knowledge and understanding of social media marketing has made him instrumental in rolling out social media ad campaigns by strategically segmenting each property’s target audience which resulted in decreasing marketing spend and increasing conversions. David graduated from Texas A&M, Corpus Christi with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications/Public Relations.
